Options to Implement
- Select, purchase, and distribute books for your team members
- Ask them to read on their own and report back afterward
- Tell those who read the entire book to schedule a discussion about the content with the leader who distributed the books (Supervisor, Manager, Owner, etc.)
- Those who follow through and schedule the appointment are “self-identifying” as leaders or potential leaders who are on board with the initiative
- Look for ways to leverage those who “self-identify” to spread the content and training to others such as leading book studies (see “Book Studies”)
- Reward those who “self-identify” with opportunities to develop others or with recognition such as Blue-Collar Leadership® coffee mugs and T-shirts
- Select a facilitator (someone motivated and inspired to lead a book study – position, title, rank isn’t important)
- Purchase and distribute books to participants
- Assemble 4-10 person groups in an office, break room, or even in the work area or on the job site (daily, every other day, weekly, etc.)
- Read and review 1 chapter per session (approximately 15 minutes)
